The People

CARLOS FERRO, Producer/Writer/Director
Carlos’ first foray into the world of entertainment was as a DJ. Spinning records in San Francisco’s best clubs, Carlos quickly became one of the city’s prominent DJs. Leaving music for a career in theatre and television, Carlos became one of the busiest actors in town. His work even led him to a stint teaching as an artist-in-residence at Cornell University. When he first came to Los Angeles, Carlos was perhaps best known for his one-man show “SAL.” This ground-breaking exploration of the life and death of Hollywood legend Sal Mineo was originally produced at the Climate Theatre in San Francisco then at the Zephyr Theatre in Hollywood. The show, which he co-wrote and produced, earned him a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award nomination for Best Solo Performance. Since then he has continued acting in television, both on-camera and in animation voice-over. The loss of his adored parents, coupled with extended stays in London and Madrid, inspired Carlos to found Argumento Films in 2004. Its first release “RASTROS,” a contemplation of family, loss and love, is his film writing and directing debut.

IRON SUITCASE
Iron Suitcase is a free showcase and forum for both signed and unsigned musicians from the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. Carlos Ferro created Iron Suitcase in 2002 as a medium to bring together his friends in the arts. As things evolved, however, and owing to Carlos’ musical background as a prominent San Francisco DJ, it became clear that Iron Suitcase was going to be all about music, musicians and music-associated video. Currently, three artists have their work showcased on Iron Suitcase: Stoomie, Mr. K and Jaysson5000.
Stoomie is a 17 year old musician/composer who works mainly in alternative hip hop and electronica. Iron Suitcase has now produced Stoomie’s first demo and a full-length album is currently in the works.
Mr. K is a founding member of the Los Angeles based band Satiate. He has also played and toured with several successful bands in the past. Satiate’s style is industrial metal, but Mr. K’s very creative, personal music ranges anywhere from alternative-ambient to thrashing electronica.
Jaysson5000’s raucous style is alternative rock. Heavily influenced by punk and glam rock of the 70’s, he has founded several Los Angeles based bands and is self-taught on most instruments. He is now branching into a solo career. All three artists are very proud to be a part of Iron Suitcase and “Rastros.” |
